North Korea threatens military strike on South
SEOUL -- North Korea, facing international censure for this week's nuclear test, threatened on Wednesday to attack the South after it joined a U.S.-led plan to check vessels suspected of carrying equipment for weapons of mass destruction.Is North Korea crazy enough to start a war? I think they are. Since there is nothing anybody can do about it, I will simply stick my head in the sand and hope the problem goes away. If anybody has a better idea, step right up.
In Moscow, news agencies quoted an official as saying that Russia is taking precautionary security measures because it fears mounting tensions over the test could escalate to war.
Adding to mounting tension in the region, South Korean media reported that Pyongyang had restarted a plant that makes plutonium that can be used in nuclear bombs.

"Any hostile act against our peaceful vessels including search and seizure will be considered an unpardonable infringement on our sovereignty and we will immediately respond with a powerful military strike," a North Korean army spokesman was quoted as saying by the official KCNA news agency.
Offer to hand over South Korea to the North. The South Koreans have no gratitude towards the Americans for saving them in the 1950s. So who cares about South Korea. It`s funny if the UN had let North Korea take over the South back in the 50s, communism would have fallen by now. A unified Korea would be too much for Kim to handle. The people would revolt and throw him out.

The South Koreans depend on US support. They're a wealthy society, they should shoulder more of the burden defending against the North. Publically they usually denounce US troops on their soil. It's very annoying.
ReplyDeleteAll the more reason to sell them out. They also have a closed economy, but sell heavily into the North American market. The US has spent billions in South Korea, and for what? I think half a century is enough time and money spent on South Korea.
ReplyDeleteAlso the world needs a few communist countries to remind us that socialism is a bad thing.
What a great deal, the north gives up all nuclear weapons, and the US hands over South Korea. It may just work.
