Wow! Chicago fans must be going crazy. According to ESPN to get Cutler the Bears had to give up quarterback Kyle Orton and first-round picks in 2009 and 2010, along with a third-round pick in 2009.
A no-brainer trade for the Bears. The guy is 25, and a Pro Bowler. He took the pathetic Broncos to 8-8 last year on his arm alone. They had the second worst defense in the league and no running game and he came within a game of taking them to the playoffs.

Biggest football trade in years. Since football is the number one sport in the US, a hell of lot of people care. I care.
ReplyDeleteGood move by the Bears. How long have they gone without a true #1 QB? They had to pay quite a bit but good QB's don't come cheap. If I were a Bear's fan I would be pretty happy about it.
ReplyDeleteThey haven't had a true #1 since McMahon in the 80's and some would argue not since Sid Luckman in the WWII era. I checked out some Chicago media and the town is buzzing.
