Harper and Dion to Address the Nation Tonight at 7PM EST

Prime Minister Stephen Harper will address the country at 7 p.m. ET on Wednesday to talk about the political crisis that could topple his Conservative minority government.

Harper will make a 10-minute pre-recorded statement in English and French to rally support to prevent a Liberal-NDP coalition from taking power.

The networks have agreed to a coalition response. The NDP has also asked for equal airtime but it is unknown if that request has been granted.

(story)

The NDP were not granted their request. I don't think Jack the Mustache understands that the NDP don't exist anymore and that Stephane Dion is his leader.

Harper needs to give the speech of his life. It would be nice if Andrew Coyne could write it.

    Haha... great point.

  2. So Ed Broadbent is claiming Harper is a liar and is shamefully unlike Clark or Stanfield. He brings up the Canadian flag (or lack there of) claim by Harper as proof. Broadbent denies it's a separatist coalition. Well, Harper may have overlooked the site of the flag but two things are for sure, the coalition has separatists in it (otherwise there would be no coalition) and the coalition can also be described as liars. What happened to their all-star team of economic advisors? Oh right... Manley and McKenna weren't even asked nor do they even want the job. Who's lying to the Canadian people Ed? Ed should be ashamed of himself.

  3. Broadbent is shameless. The only way his rag-tag group can get in power is this Coup. In all my years the NDP have never even made the opposition. They're a joke.
